Audi cars are as close as you can get to buying a mass produced hand made car. Especially in the axle department. No matter how much of an effort that someone puts into research, they will NEVER catalog the many changes in the axles used on your AUDI vehicle. The inner joints may be the same, the outer joints may be the same, but the bar shaft length is NEVER the same. Avoid having the car on your hoist for days on end and countless axles being dropped off by the local auto parts store that just don't fit. Here at Proven Force we rebuild these axles on site. What you get with your remanufactured Audi axle The correct bar shaft is checked for straightness and spline wear. (The correct bar is correct because it is the bar that came off of the car originally) The inner joint is cleaned and inspected, bearings replaced as necassary. New high silicone boots are installed for greater flexibility and heat resistance. New high temp FWD axle grade grease is used throughout. A new or reground outer joint is installed, these are the same multi-arc style joints that are typically only used on Audi axles not someone elses poor attempt to upgrade because they lack the correct machinery to replicate. Stainless steel clamps are installed, these are the Band-it style clamps that are immune to uneven clamp loads and loosening.
